Introduction
Well, if you got through the last article, good news! I included both 2.11 and 2.12 in the previous article. Here, we'll recap the most important texture devices and include some examples.

| Name | What is it? |
| Arpeggiation | Playing each note of a chord in sequence, spelling out a chord |
| Alberti Bass | Type of repeated arpeggiation as accompaniment: 1 5 3 5 |
| Walking Bass | Bass line playing one chord tone per beat (common in jazz) |
| Canon | Overlapping entrances playing the same material (type of polyphony) |
| Imitation | One voice plays something similar to another voice |
| Solo | One voice playing the main idea w/ or w/o accompaniment |
| Doubling | More than one voice playing the exact same material, possibly transposed by octave to fit within a comfortable range |
